KARI is developing various fixed-wing aircraft including an 8-passenger twin-engine synthetic material airplane, a small long-endurance UAV 'Durumi', a 4-passenger canard airplane named Bandiho, a 50m long airship, and an aerostat.
4-Passenger Canard Airplane 'Bandiho'
The Bandiho is the first commercially developed aircraft model that Korea has exported.
This small, 4-passenger, canard aircraft, whose engine is situated at the rear of the fuselage and whose tail wing is at the fore of the fuselage, is considered to be the ideal vehicle for flight training and sports leisure. It successfully carried out a roundtrip flight to the South Pole without landing in January ~ March 2004, and became the first aircraft developed with Korean technology to be exported in October 2006.
