Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for The ODCS
procurement of GEO-KOMPSAT-2.
The following is an outline of the RFP requirements, so potential Bidders are requested to careful y
review the RFP Documents and to submit their Proposals in accordance with the guidelines and
requirements as contained in the RFP. The successful Bidder shall supply the ODCS procurement of
GEO-KOMPSAT-2.
1. Main Scope
. Item : the ODCS procurement of GEO-KOMPSAT-2
. Contract Period : 33 months from the Effective Date of Contract
. Warranty Period : until launch date of GEO-KOMPSAT-2A/2B
. Estimated Budget : KRW 32bil ion won
. Method of Contract : Negotiation
2. Qualification of Bidders
. Bidder should have direct knowledge and first-hand experience in designing, manufacturing,
integrating and testing of the data downlink and relay subsystem, similar to the ODCS specified in this
RFP. Bidder shal have at least five (5) years of experience in the above fields as a prime contractor.
. Bidders shal be in possession of all the necessary licenses, in effect as of the Bid Closing Date,
required for the ODCS procurement of GEO-KOMPSAT-2 as described in this RFP.
. The qualifying statement for the above requirements and support materials shal be provided in the
Proposal. Additional qualifying evidence may be requested to substantiate Bidder's claim if
necessary.
3. Registration of Intent
. Registration : submittal by letter of intent
. Bidders shal inform KARI of their intent within one (1) week from the Bid opening date. A registration of
intent shal be made to the address indicated in RFP by email, post, courier or fax.
4. Distribution of RFP Documents and Submittal of Proposal
. Distribution of RFP Documents: by means of email for qualified bidders from registered bidders.
. Bidders shal visit Procurement Team of KARI to submit Proposal before Bid Closing Date and Time.
Bidders shal fill and submit the ‘Bidder Qualification Form’ attached at the end of this. A designee who
has a power of attorney signed by Bidders and a certified identification of his own may visit KARI and
submit Proposal on behalf of the Bidder.
. The proposal shall be hand-carried to KARI personnel or his designee indicated in RFP
. Bid currency is USD or EUR.
. The proposal shall be made in English or Korean
5. Bid Closing Date and Time
. May 26, 2014 17:00 Korean Local Time
6. Bid Bond
. The total amount of the bid bond shal be at least five (5) percent of total bid value
. The bid bond shal be submitted via the Bank designated in the RFP before the Bid Closing Date
. The currency of bid bond is USD or EUR.
