The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT, Minister: Lee Jong-Ho) holds the “Korea Space Forum 2022” for two days, from November 28 to 29. This Forum is an international event and serves as one of the major venue to discuss the field of space industry, and marks the fourth anniversary this year. About 150 international and domestic speakers and panels participates in this year’s event, and anyone can watch and participate via online live streaming at (https://www.youtube.com/user/KARItelevision).
On the first day (11.28), Claire Jolly, the Chair of OECD Space Forum, delivers a keynote speech under the theme of ‘Space Economy Prospects from the OECD.’ The speech is followed by space policy and strategy briefings given by multiple space organizations including NASA from the U.S., JAXA from Japan, ESA from Europe, ALCE from Latin America and Caribbean, LSA from Luxembourg, and GISTDA from Thailand.
On the second day (11.29), space development strategies of private sector enterprises in the era of the ‘New Space’ will be discussed, and venture business investment briefing will be held. Chad Anderson, the venture capitalist of the Space Capital, opens the day with a keynote speech under the theme of ‘Challenges of Venture Companies in Space Economy.’ International and domestic companies will then present the trends and prospects of space development industries.
Minister Lee Jong-Ho of Science and ICT said “the “Korea Space Forum” draws more and more attention as years go by, and I hope this year’s forum widens the national consensus regarding the space economy.” He added, “Korean government will hold National Space Committee on December and draw up the Fourth Space Development Promotion Plan in a bid to realise the space economy era.”
