The KOMPSAT-3A Launch Services

(Bidding No. KARI-10-05)

 

Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), a Korean government-funded institution, solicits qualified Bidders who can provide the Launch Services and associated services including necessary material and equipment for the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-3A (KOMPSAT-3A).

 

The following is an outline of the RFP requirements, so potential Bidders are requested to carefully review the RFP document and to submit their Proposals in accordance with the guidelines and requirements as contained in the RFP.

 

1.Main Scope

-  To provide KARI with the launch service and any other necessary items and services for the purpose of launching the KOMPSAT-3A into the target orbit.

2.Qualification of Bidders

- Bidder shall have direct knowledge and experience in successfully launching a satellite as of the Bid Closing Date, and Bidder shall be in possession of the necessary license, in effect as of the Bid Closing Date, to act as a launch service provider. If the Bidder is not a manufacturer of the proposed launch vehicle, a written commitment from the launch vehicle manufacturer, who is in possession of the necessary license in effect as of the Bid Closing Date, is required for the assurance of furnishing the proposed launch vehicle to the Bidder.

- The proposed launch vehicle shall be able to launch KOMPSAT-3A which includes U.S. components at the proposed launch site. The proposed launch service shall meet the US government export control policy.

3. Bid Closing Date

   - August 27, 2010, 15:00 Korean Local Time

 

4. Bid Bond

   - At least two (2) percent of the total bidding price in the form of an irrevocable L/C

 

5. Distribution of RFP Documents

- Prospective Bidders shall submit the Application form, which is posted herein, to the e-mail address stated below.

-  The electronic files of RFP documents will be distributed to those who are, at KARI¡¯s discretion, deemed to be qualified Bidders under the RFP requirements, and to those who have responded to KARI¡¯s RFI. of April. 2010.

 

6. Submittal of Proposal

- Proposal shall be submitted to the address stated below in a manner as specified in the RFP

 

7. Evaluation of Proposal

  - Please refer to the Evaluation of Proposal of the RFP.
